Lesjöfors China selected to help shape China's future factory safety strategy

Lesjöfors China has been recognised for its long-standing commitment to workplace safety after being selected by China's Ministry of Emergency Management to help inform discussions on improving factory safety across the country's manufacturing sector.
Representing Lesjöfors China, Operations Manager Louis Tong attended the high-level meeting in Beijing on June 29.
The invitation was highly selective. Of the 20 delegates attending, Lesjöfors China was one of only two manufacturing companies invited from across China, joining government officials, industrial landlords and representatives from five of the country's largest manufacturing provinces.
Even more significantly, Lesjöfors China was the only manufacturing company selected to represent Jiangsu Province, one of China's largest industrial regions, highlighting the company's long-standing reputation for workplace safety and operational excellence.
The meeting focused on strengthening collaboration between manufacturers and industrial landlords to create safer workplaces and share best practices that can support the continued development of China's manufacturing sector.
Built on years of progress
The invitation reflects many years of investment in developing a proactive safety culture at Lesjöfors China's Changzhou facility.
Through structured improvement programs, a close partnership with risk management specialists AON and the introduction of an open near-miss reporting culture, the business has created an environment where safety is embedded into everyday operations and continuous improvement is encouraged at every level.
This commitment has previously been recognised by local government, with Lesjöfors China ranked among the top 15 safest manufacturers from more than 500 companies. In addition, EHS Administrator Shi Nian was recognised as one of the top 20 safety professionals from more than 700 evaluated across the region.
Recognition for the entire team
Mikael Andersson, Vice President Asia and Managing Director of Lesjöfors China, said: "To be selected by China's Ministry of Emergency Management is a tremendous honour, but what makes it particularly special is how selective the process was. Across the entire country, only two manufacturing companies were invited to contribute to these discussions, with Lesjöfors China chosen to represent Jiangsu Province.
This recognition reflects years of commitment from our entire team. Together, we have built a culture where safety is everyone's responsibility and continuous improvement is part of everyday life. To be recognised at a national level demonstrates that our approach is making a real difference - not only within Lesjöfors, but across the wider manufacturing community."
This latest recognition demonstrates how long-term investment in people, culture and operational excellence has established Lesjöfors China as a trusted voice in workplace safety and a valued contributor to discussions shaping the future of manufacturing safety in China.
