Skatoties augšup k koka lapotnei, zari stiepjas uz āru ar koši zaļām lapām, ko izgaismo saules gaisma, radot mierpilnu un atsvaidzinošu atmosfēru.

Two students are mapping Lesjӧfors’s climate reduction journey as part of their thesis. Linus Rodin and Topias Karlsson are studying a MSc in Industrial Engineering and Management at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm – one of Europe’s leading technical and engineering universities – and their thesis will lead to more detailed development of Lesjofor’s future climate reduction plans.

Scope 1-3 analytical progression

Anna Haesert, Head of Sustainability says: “This is a truly exciting project and Lesjӧfors are very fortunate to be the focus of the thesis. With the support of the findings, we will be able to develop a more detailed and structured climate reduction plan. The analysis of the status reports from all our sites on Scope 1, 2, and 3 progressions will help map the Lesjӧfors Group’s path going forward.”

Thesis scope

Preliminary research questions for the project include the identification and mapping of Lesjӧfors’ greenhouse gas inventory, resulting in:

  • Localization of GHG hotspots
  • Specification of greenhouse gas calculation components

The resulting final presentation will help deliver the Group’s action plan for climate-related activities, which will include identification of opportunities and obstacles for further progress towards GHG reduction targets.
